    no offense meant here, but you should read up on the process and how people are nominated. further, you should take a read on the reasons it was given. some are legitimate (his plans for things, how the world took note of what was happening, dropbacks to war, etc) while others point to this more being a slap in the face of our former president whos sole purpose was to stay at war, or that there are huge expectations being placed on Obama.


    i dont disagree that perhaps this was a bit early for him to recieve it this year, however it is a political game - its holding him accountable, its making him work in the future, and its telling the world how much they detested bush.


    this is as much a political statement as it is a statment of hope.
